I'm 17 and 1/2, and I'm thinking about getting a tattoo of a key on my inner left wrist. I've wanted to get one for a long time, but I thought I'd wait until I was 18.

I was just wondering approximately how much it would cost (it would be about 2 inches long) , how to find a reputable tattoo artist and how bad is the pain on the wrist?

    Thanks!

  • I have a tattoo on my left inner wrist and it didn't hurt too horribly. I mean it was painful, but I didn't cry or have to stop the guy. I think the one on my foot hurt worse to be honest. Also, don't get screwed on the price! DON'T PAY OVER $60!! And really it shouldn't be that much. Trust me, some tattoo parlors are in it for the money. Find one that loves what they do and where you will be comfortable getting it done. Obviously make sure it is clean.

  • Is about $40/sq.inch+designe if complicated+2many colors...... "tattoo=pain" always[local anestezia; or get totaly drunk]... "2FIND" an tattoo/artist "U" have 2 ask ppl.who got beautiful tattoos....

  • It doesn't hurt that bad at all, but it depends on your tolerance. Everyone is different.

If you are in the Chicago area, I can direct you to a few great shops. Otherwise, ask around. If a friend has a great tattoo, ask where it was done. Once you have gotten a few suggestions, you MUST look at portfolios. Make sure that the shop uses proper sterilization techniques, some states even require a certification. You can find that out on your state's health department website. And make sure that you are comfortable with your artist. An unpleasant artist can ruin the experience. If the artist is an a**hole (which they sometimes are, especially if this is your first tattoo), find another shop.

  • The pain would be excruciating. I have 2 tattoos--one on my lower back (4"x3"), the other on the arch of my left foot ( .75"x.5"--had to do twice, more painful than I would like to admit).

I would only caution about doing a tattoo on such an exposed spot--although it's not legal for a company to discriminate based on tattoos, companies will discriminate. And in 10 years, you may regret your decision. I like where mine are, but don't see them so often that I get sick of them, and employers never see them either. Just something to think about, especially at that size.

  • I have many tattoos and in my vaste experience it is up to the artist how much pain you go thru as the amount of needles in the gun itself can be changed from a few up to as many as the artist wants to use. if they are busy and want to get done quickly then more needles gets the job done faster, so ask the artist.
The tattoo on my wrist did not hurt even a little. The artist was professional and did a perfect job.
Do not drink any alcohol before getting tattooed as it will make your blood thinner and cause more bleeding which will affect the healing process.
Search around for the right person, talk to them and get to know what kind of person they are attitude wise.
Ask about the number of needles that will be used, I will tell you the more the nicer the tat.
The cost will be up to the artist. Make sure you are being worked on by by a trained artist and not an appretice.
Go during the day and not on a weekend.
    Happy Tattooing.

  • i"ve gotten 2 tats and a piercing...
it all depends on ppl and where at...
it usually hurts on thin skin and where bone is at..
for example the ribs and collor bone, etc...

    prices varies...
where i got mine it was a least 70 or more and sometimes by the hour. my 1st one took 4 hours but gave it 2 me for 200 (gave him 250 because gave him tip)
the 2nd one was 80 ( again gave him tip)

for top artist go on google and just type for ur state and city

  • maybe about $40.

  • Nice that you waited,,,

The Wrist kills on tattoos plus it's hard to hide.

Maybe you should wait another year and think about it.

  • Nobody understands...any help please?
50 points for someone willing to do this!!!!!!!!!!?
