I got one last year, I didn't get the flu but I got another virus. Is it really worth it?
There are always new strains of the flu virus each year, that is why sometimes the flu shot is ineffective. However, most doctors still recommend the flu shot to their patients with respiratory illnesses, the elderly, those with immune related diseases, etc. This is not only to protect against the flu virus, but to alleviate the symptoms as well, if the virus is contracted. It's just an added bit of protection.

Not worth but if effected has to face
asthmatics are urged to get a shot as you are more prone to being affected by it
this is the case as asthmatics have weaker lungs, airways and breathing capacity to everyone else
due to the flu targeting these areas of the human body , this virus targets these weaknesses therefor effecting you more seriously, or letting you catch it easier
in other words the flu puts more stress on your airways then if a non asthmatic person caught it
How is breathing affected by lung cancer ?
