I've been lookng at a new hoodie with the slogan 'new york doll' on it and thought it must be some sort of band etc? if they are a band who were / are & what music did/do they sing?

they are only one of the BEST and most influential bands to grace a stage,a mix of swagger,glam,and sheer attitude,sadly only 2 original dolls survive,billy murcia(died 1971,drug related),johnny thunders(died suspected herion OD 1991)jerry nolan(died stroke 1991) arthur"killer"kane died 1995 leukiemia)survivng dolls are david johansen and syl sylvain who reformed the band a few years ago and have toured a few times(i saw em in 2006 and they rocked)
