F1032:: lasting, Hollywood lip gloss with Granacrysil BAS for extreme non-transfer. Procedure: 1. Heat Part A to 90°C (194°F). 2 http://www.grantinc.com/Cosmet/Formulations/Lip/Lip_Gloss_F1032_LG11.htmHOME | This will be the first time in my travels that I will be changing air carriers and needing to recheck my bags. I am arriving into HKG on NW. I will have checked luggage. I will then need to checkin with Emirates Air for my flight to BKK and recheck my bags. I assume I will need to go through passport control to get my bags and then take them back to departure level to check in for the Emirates flight. Is this correct? Will there be any problems at passport control? Thanks for your help on this.
Interlining means that NW can check your luggage through to the final destination, including the EK flight. They probably cannot issue boarding passes (you will get those at HKG at the transfer desk which is airside, before immigration). NW will require proof of your ticket on EK before accepting your bags (either paper ticket on EK, or if it is an e-ticket they may want to see an itinerary with an IATA ticket number). There are some airlines that do not interline (mostly LCCs, for example Southwest and JetBlue in the US).
I don't think that's too short. HKG is, IMO, one of the best airports out there and the time it takes to transit isn't that long and I've never had an issue. In regards to who will accomodate you that would depend on why the flight's late. But I honestly wouldn't worry about it, I've had much shorter time and made it pretty easy.
If you are stuck in the terminal for a while, there's a sleep / nap / shower place the floor above the departures area.
I agree with Number_6 I can't believe you'll have to get your bags, you should just be a transit not problem. But if you do, I have had to go through immigration and gotten my bags as I had a quick change of schedule and had to rebook my next leg in HKG. Not a problem, just told them at immigration I had a change of plans and am going upstairs to rebook my next leg. Stamped my passport and on I went. Time was super quick, smooth and efficient. Elevators right outside baggage claim takes you upstairs to check in area.

I called NW and they confirmed the interline agreement with EK. Hopefully there is no flight delay in NRT as that is the last flight to BKK. Thanks again.
Thanks for the replies. I wasn't aware of the ability to check through to final destination, even when on separate airlines not partnered with NW.
One other question of concern. My NW flight from NRT arrives at 10:10 pm. My Emirates flight leaves at 12:15 am. Is this transfer time to short. What will happen if my NW flight arrives late and I miss the Emirates flight? There is not another Emirates to BKK until 10:25 pm. Will I have to wait until 10:25 pm that night for the next flight, or will Emirates accomodate me on another flight. Does NW have to accomodate me? Thanks for your repsonses. These are new situations for me.
Normally you can check bags through to the final destination, even if it is 2 separate tickets. I can't believe that NW doesn't have an interline agreement with EK; if you can check your bags through to BKK, they will be transferred at HKG without clearing customs and without any action on your part; just stay airside and go through the transfer desk. If you do have to reclaim baggage then you will have to go through immigration and customs, where you will need to show your onward air tickets but it will go smoothly. Customs may think it odd that you didn't interline your baggage and this may single you out for a more thorough inspection. If all goes well this takes less than 30 minutes at HKG (usually quite efficient).
Nobody understands...any help please?
50 points for someone willing to do this!!!!!!!!!!?
