Travel Hub : Flight Timetables Bangkok Chiang Mai:: Flight timetables from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and Chiang Mai to Bangkok Flight Timetables: Bangkok-Chiang Mai and Chiang Mai Bangkok. Nok Air Flight Timetable http://www.travelhubchiangmaitours.com/about_chiang_mai/flle_chiang_mai_bangkok.htmHOME | Has anyone seen the new timetables yet? i have been to at least 3 CTOs during January, and they all keep handing me a timetable that expired 12/14/99.
With CO - I am Gold Elite and they mail the timetable with the statement (just a suggestion).
As for AA's olive savings, there may have been a study involved (how could there not be?!), but I recall reading in an article about employee suggestion box incentives that some first class flight attendant made the suggestion based on the observation of how many salads came back all eaten except the olive. S/he got something like 25% or 50% of the first-year savings (surely the AA bean counters - I mean olive counters http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif - were able to divide their olive bill by two to determine the savings...but then again...)
Interesting info Derek (I wonder how much it cost AA to commission the olive study... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif). AAnyway, they can keep their olives (although I have to say that the food is slightly better on UA, at least in coach), but timetables are a necessity. I am sure they cost money, but I would consider that a necessary part of the cost of doing business. All the other airlines print timetables; AA are the second largest airline in the country and they think they can avoid printing timetables?
FlyAAway, I might just write them too, any idea who to address the letter to?

Oops, I meant bag--honestly.
Re: the olives
BTW, there were olives on my salad, along with capers. But no timetable.

Honu,
The fax number is 817-963-7882. Attention:
MaryAnn McCabe-Cipperly. I will be interested in her/their response.
Time to write letters to AA and let them know. There is strength in numbers. I asked to have the timetable mailed to me when they were printing them; AA never made it past the second mailing.
Seems like the least they could do for their elite frequent flyers. They are so handy on the run, or when you are in a weather delay holding pattern. It allows you to map your options; this ultimately benefits AA. I carry an outdated one and still find it useful! Timetables:: Rail timetables. Visit our rail section to view your local train guides. My letter is going out today. I hope you all will join in.
I was told by the reps at the HNL CTO that AA skipped printing the Jan. timetable alltogether, and they will put one out starting at the beginning of Feb. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
I don't like that AA try to save money by cutting off useful (and necessary) services like that. It's this kind of nickle-and-diming that sometimes makes me wonder whether we shouldn't switch all our business to UA (but then I remember that they do it to... see some older post about salt & pepper containers in FC).
Regards
honu
American Airlines is an airline that commissioned a study to find that they could save $40,000 a year by putting one less olive on your salad. American hates having to print timetables and have been trying to get rid of them for a long time. There is an expense to printing them. I heard at one time that AA was going to offer them on a subscription basis. That didn't happen.
I recall over the past two years:
1. thick
2. thin (one month, grey cover)
3. thick (ending with Dec. 1998 red cover)
4. nothing
5. thin (blue/red cover, thru Dec. 14)

Hey everyone...
Forget the paper. Go the way of technology. Download an electronic timetable!
I love mine. It does travel plans from city to city. Lets you chose direct and with stops. Also lists all flights out of a city plus a few other things. They also offer an e-mail service and AA emails you when they have updated the software....happens about every 6 weeks.
It is a 2-meg file. To get it, go to AA.com. Log into "Your Home Page". From the "Travel Planning" dropdown, select "Download Electronic Timetable".
They also have a new conduit for your PDA. Haven't tried it yet...
AA has a program for its employees, the IdeAAs program, where employess are rewarded a percentage of any savings for the company. Also, they are putting some of that saved money to purchase a new employee 777 later this year.

Me too http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
I agree with the above. I rarely post but often read through the posts on this site to pass the time (then I'm either outraged or amused). But the timetable is an essential necessity. Typically, I split between American and United. But I tell you... between the very positive experience I've had in United's economy plus section (its unbelievable what a few inches will do for you!) and the amazing consistency with which I regularly receive my United timetable, its becoming easier and easier to forget about the goofy salt and pepper tubes in UA First! It's been slowly dawning on me, for about the last 3-4 months, that 2000 is the year that I permanently drop American Airlines. While UA isn't exactly nirvana in the sky, I find that time and again I am looking forward to travel on UA and dreading travel on AA. The timetable fisaco (and I didn't even know about the olive study!) is just too much. Just something to think about for 2000 (ps I live in Chicago so its easy to go with either UA or AA).
I can't think of anything more reflective of a company that has lost its way than the timetable hiatus. What does AA think we're going to do with the timetables? Does it occur to anyone there that we might use them to fly AA? AA has in the last year or so gone from good timetables that showed connections, to none at all, to the Northwest type direct flight schedule (make your own connection), to none at all again. Can anyone explain the strategic thinking at work here? Does AA realize that not all of its frequent flyers are carrying around a laptop to use nn its none to user friendly website?
The poor ticket agents that I have asked for a schedule have been uniformly disgusted by such shortsightedness. For my money, bring back timetables and cancel my bistro gag.
Just an FYI ... I have the latest AA Timetable downloaded on my laptop. I have never experienced problems with it. You can download it by logging onto AA.com I know that i is not always convenient to fire up the laptop, but it sure does save trees.

My time table came earlier this week. Nice that they had the more legroom announcement on the cover.
I really like the map that shows all the direct connections from the hubs. Makes hop planning a bunch easier.
Dr. Howser, I'm glad electronic timetables are sufficient for your needs, but I believe they don't cut it for the majority of AA (or any other airline's) flyers. I think we've already discussed this, but I'll restate it: where lots of people need the timetable the most is at the airport, when they're running from one gate to another because their flight has been cancelled, delayed, they got bumped, etc., and they need to come up with alternative arrangements.
I have a nice desktop computer at home, but I never travel with a laptop. My husband, who always does, still doesn't want to have to sit down and start it up just to look up something that he could much more quickly find in a small 2 oz booklet. Printed timetables are a necessity.
it is now Feb. 6 - and no timetable?
Hello ??
i couldn't agree more with both responses - i would think that a company the size of AA would have a department somewhere where someone would realize how important such schedules are to customers.
i think its a disgrace in my opinion.
for that matter, so is the bistro bag.
Honu,
I have an address at work. It will be posted tomorrow. It actually is a name and fax number. Standby!
available at the gate at ATL on Wednesday AM.

Yes - THERE IS FINALLY A NEW TIMTEABLE OUT - I GOT ONE IN THE MAIL LAST NIGHT.
ENJOY...
Just got mine in the mail today!!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Does anyone have an idea on why AA decided to mail them to people? If AA is in such a cost savings mode (ie olives discussed above) why would they go to the expense of mailing them when most of us would just grab them up at the counter. Did AA mail them to everyone or just their elite flyers? I am AA Platinum. Anyone out there receive a timetable who is not elite level?
Nobody understands...any help please?
50 points for someone willing to do this!!!!!!!!!!?
