Lighttpd supported?
Published by: smith 2009-01-08

  • Hello,

is it possible to install OX 0.8.2-1 for lighttpd webservers?
Some experiences and comments about appreciated.

    TIA

    Penny

  • My suggestion: If you can get the mod_jk connector for lighthttpd there should be no problem.

  • Hello Daniel,

let me continue in German language, it goes quicker and avoid missunderstandings this way:

Our clients have asked to use CommunitySEO since it's LightTPD "supported", yet at a large cost, the mod_rewrite code eats up more cpu and uses over 12

I chose to use Lighttpd (aka Lighty) to be the static file server based on its . I didn't know that lighttpd supported splitting processes over physical

  • @pennywize

If you have tested it please edit the Wiki page, too :)

    Daniel

  • It is on the way. I´ll post a quick howto to the wiki section and a full howto later in the week.

I really recommend to use Lighttpd instead Apache2. It saves ressources, especially at servers with low amount of RAM :D

    Greetings Thomas

  • Does it mean it works then? Have you tested it?

    :)

  • Yes, it works then but am not really lucky with atm.
I need to implement full worker.properties directives but have had no (full)success yet. Have tried another java script, similar to this what OX is using, it works fine with lighttpd now ;)
Just need to play a bit with settings and tell you my results later.

  • Hello Daniel,

if someone else asks for, here´s the solution:

Lighttpd Version 1.5+ and enabled module 'mod_proxy_ajp13'

    Viele Grüße

    Penny

  • Hey Pennywize and Daniel,

I have installed OX for Lighty, do you need a tutorial?

BTW, Penny you did a simple logical error - you have PM :D

  • Well, the best place for a tutorial is the ox wiki. Thanks a lot for you contribution! :)

  • @sledge0303

Great - edit the wiki so everybody who likes to use lighthttpd can use your howto!

    Thanks
    Daniel

  • Nice - have fun :)

    Daniel

  • Nobody understands...any help please?
