I'd like to get a sense of whether it's worth waiting for Y award space (using United miles) to come through on Air New Zealand, specifically for the nonstop SFO to AKL flight on February 7. Does NZ typically release Y award space within days of departure, if so at what time window typically? Thanks!
I'm not sure. The flight isnt looking too full in Y (although C is full). WebFlyer :: The Frequent Flyer Authority:: Such a vast discrepancy can be anathema to the North American flyer . and offering last-minute reduced upgrade award redemption is also quite welcome. http://webflyer.com/programs/ratings_and_reviews/program.php?key=LY01HOME |
Have you checked award availability on the LAX flights (to AKL or CHC)?

United says no NZ overwater award space available via any route for February 7 or 8. In any event, my mother only wants the SFO-AKL nonstop those dates, in preference to SFO-UA-SYD-NZ-WLG where award space is available.
airnzboy, can you shed some light on this?
Nobody understands...any help please?
50 points for someone willing to do this!!!!!!!!!!?
