As I posted a question a few minutes ago, my cousin's daughter has gone extremely off track. She makes her mother cry and makes them regret coming to America. She has no attachment towards her parents at all but is it true that sometimes someone's death makes u a better person because you realize that you were a great dissappointment to them their whole life? Would that make anyone change?
Not at all. That girl just needs to hit rock bottom. Some people are like that, they have to fall to the absolute lowest point before they start climbing up. It seems like that girl is that way.
Allah chooses from a variety of solutions to teach what our souls need to grasp. In some cases Allah may choose such a solution. She sounds like a typical Western teenager, what did they think would happen if they moved to America? But if the parents' attitude is that the daughter has been a disappointment to them her whole life, then I think the problems started with the parents not the kid and they are getting one of those self-fulfilling prophecies, or as it says in Qur'an, their own works are brought to life against them. I don't believe that's true at all.
I know these two Lebanese brothers, and they have all these tattoos on them. One of them died this yr from a motorcycle crash. Now the other brother is VERY religious. Whenever i go on Friday, hes at the mosque always crying, and asking everyone to pray for his brother. Its very sad really.
Also my dad wasnt really a practicing Muslim when he was young, but when his father (my grandfather) died, he became really strict in his deen.

If she has any love for them at all in there, Which I bet she does, she can't be that heartless. Say her mom is on her death bed and her last wish is for her to be a better muslim, she will probably listen, because it was the last wish of a dying person, make her promise it. She will feel very saddened and probably realize her wrongs, and repent. Theres also a small chance that she won't care...

Why would it make you a better person if you think you were a dissapointment? That makes no sense. I think death is the only solution for people who don't help themselves, and in that case only.
I understand your question. You're not really asking if it would be better if one of them would be dead, you're merely wondering if perhaps your cousin's daughter would come to her senses were she to lose her mother and were she to realize that she lost her only friend. Yes, she would. But still, I feel sorry for her in advance if she ever has to learn some things that way. I mean, we do learn things hard way, but she's still very young (only 21). What they need is a third person who'll try to bring compromise between them. Her mother also needs help. Poor woman. She probably thinks that she failed as a parent, but that's not true. She gave her best. It's a different story that her best wasn't good enough. She also must learn to respect her daughter's choices and to learn to live with those. And that daughter needs to learn to respect the womb that bore her! She is her mother, she fed her, clothed her, bathed her, washed her bum every time she pooed - someone needs to knock some sense into her.
