Guy

Imagine that youâ ™d have to give up your cellular phone for a whole month. I think that for me it would be almost impossible. Though Iâ ™ve lived most of my life in the era before the cellular revolution, I think the cellular phone has changed the modern society, and me as part of it, in an irreversible way.

I think that the most phenomenal things that the cell phone has altered, in a behavioral point of view, are two: the first one is the replacement of the perception of the static environment to a mobile one and the Second, which derives from the First, is the individualization and personification of the information recipient.

Letâ ™s put it like this, 20 years ago you would call a certain place today you call a person. And that, although it doesnâ ™t seem as such a big change, itâ ™s a major revolution, not only in sociological terms but also cultural and economical perspective. The availability of an individual person today doesnâ ™t relay on you being in one place as it was as it was 20 years ago.

20 years ago the recipient of any message or any way of mass communication was faceless, anonymous. Today the new modes of mass communication (internet and the mobile phone telecommunications) have a pretty based profile of the potential recipient of any message, so in away they are appealing personally to you and your personal your taste.

Another major thing is the evolution of the cellular phone to a personal accessory and the customization of it which came mostly with the entrance of the different accessories for the mobile phones mostly the ringtone. A ringtone gives you the chance of making your cell phone truly yours by applying to it your favorite music, making your mobile phone individual.
