(AC & TQ draw on this one)
The UA trans-Atlantic was in J, The service was indifferent.....I guess the 2 hour delay at Heathrow didn't help, we had no real explanation ...just mechanical!
The airlines in 3-5 position were close, SQ and TQ were way in front...Iam sure I will take another AC or UA flight and have another experience.
I was just impressed by AC again, called to make a change, the agent went way beyond her scope to sort me out, excellent.!
Now just move this to the gate agents....
Just to confuse things completely, I am flying UA from IAD-LHR, on the outbound there is no E+ on the 777, but on the inbound there is. Different configurations I have been told. So UA is at the bottom of the list...
LH lounge #1? Where was this?

I guess this correct, However SQ are in a league of there own...
And UA really dissapointed me with all aspects of the service...
AC were very good,I see a much improved service from these guys in all departments
ooops!.
You all knew what I meant !
When I travelled trans-Atlantic the end of April, the E+ UAL seating never materialized on departure day. LHR-SFO-LHR
I was very disappointed, since I was looking forward to trying out this much publicized E+ seating, and was told when I booked the flight it would be offering E+ seating.
Apparently it is still a hit and miss benefit.
so a middling kind of airline?
Or are all the airlines pretty good and these are minor, statistically insignificant difference http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif?
By the way, Thai is "TG". "TQ" is for Rupert. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Most UA 777 trans-atlantic flights from the west coast do not have E+. The flights to Asia don't either. I have no idea why.
LH lounge was the arrivals lounge at FRA.
It was great, excellant showers, breakfast, computor access....all round the better of the lounges on this trip, I guess cities have to play a part of this so heres the cities visited.

What noise cancelling headsets on UA? Never got them on my C flights -- though AA had them -- but now I bring my own along. This has been the subject of considerable complaint in the UA Forum, so when did they bring these back, and on what routes?
I agree with Farrari about the middling nature of the experience, though given my flights -- except for the AC transAtlantics which were both in J with very acceptable and attentive service -- were all short-hauls on narrow bodies. LH was least good overall followed by BD, while OS and SK stood out. OS's cabin felt more spacious for an A320, while SK's light meal was a real surprise given cutback in catering found on LH and OS on flights of longer duration during meal periods. On a par with AC's current Hospitality sandwhich catering, albeit alcohol is free on all European carriers.
Pitch was worst on LH, with OS, BD and SK all offering enough leg room, maybe an inch more than AC. Ground handling at AMS for STAR is the pits. No more Priority tags either, a recent change according to check-in agent. BD and SK have their own staff, but all others use a dreadful local contractor.
I too have completed my 55555 Run. Ended up with a couple of extra segments due to re-routing resulting from cancelled flights, something to watch out for if doing a number of tight connections.
How does LH's Arrivals Lounge at FRA compare with AC's at LHR? I have noted that LH's Business and Senator lounges at FRA are real zoos due to overcrowding. And that STAR needs a third tier to relieve the crowding in the top end lounges [i.e. Senator, First Class].
actually I didn't get it in either direction. I was flying out of LHR, and returning to LHR.
That's why always go via ORD or BOS so you could get a 767 and E+ all the way. (More miles too!) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
All my flights on UA this year (mostly transpac in J) have been extremely good. I actually think UA's J seat is a lot more comfortable than AC's and you gotta love those noise cancelling headphones on UA! In terms of service, I would say UA and AC is pretty equal. No one comes close to SQ though!!
My trans-atlantic flights in E+ on UA have been much better than anything I've ever experienced in the AC Y cabin. Guess it depends where you are flying and where you are sitting.
Nobody understands...any help please?
50 points for someone willing to do this!!!!!!!!!!?
